In March of 1912, L.M. Montgomery was putting the finishing touches on a collection of her previously-written short stories, Chronicles of Avonlea, because she did not have the time to write a new novel. A year earlier, in March 1911, her grandmother, Lucy Woolner Macneill, had died and Montgomery had had to close down the house where she had lived for thirty-six years. She was married a few months later and, after a honeymoon in England and Scotland, moved into a new home in Ontario in October 1911. In January of 1912, she was pregnant with her first child, and finally updating her journals about the happenings of the last eleven months., Source type: Print(0), http://www.weebly.com/uploads/2/2/6/5/226525/the_shining_scroll_2012_part_1.pdf
