When Lucy Maud Montgomery and her new husband, the Reverend Ewan Macdonald, returned to Canada from their honeymoon in Scotland in late September 1911, they settled in the rural community of Leaskdale, Ontario where Ewan was the minister of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church.
