Abstract

A first day cover (FDC) depicting Cavendish Post Office at the time that L.M. Montgomery's grandmother, Lucy MacNeill, was postmistress. Martha Shea was the inspiration for the portrait of Anne of Green Gables on the stamp. The stamp was released to commemorate L.M. Montgomery's 100th birthday.
